Diversity of ABAS-II Oakland et al. (2013) analyzed adaptive behavior in three different countries, which included the United States, Taiwan, and Romania. They used scores from the ABAS-II, which has an adapted version for each country. These researchers used psychometric characteristics to compare the versions together, and to compare the scores attained together. Internal consistency between the three versions of the ABAS-II displayed high coefficients for the GAC scores. The U.S. and Romania both acquired a coefficient of .98, while Taiwan attained a coefficient of .99. These strong coefficients provided evidence for the ability for the ABAS-II to measure adaptability across different cultures. Oakland et al. (2004) also discovered adequate correlations for construct validity. This supported the ABAS-II to measure adaptability, even in the alternate cultures. Reliability estimates revealed high coefficients between all three cultural versions of the test, within the .90 and higher range. ABAS-II and Disorders Lopata et al. (2012) researched adaptation deficits in participants with high-functioning autism spectrum disorder (HFASD). They used the ABAS-II to try to identify the most serious deficits. In line with past research, HFASD individuals showed significant deficits in overall adaptive behaviors, but most significantly in the Social domain.
